GOBBLE GOBBLE! Happy Thanksgiving!

We traveled to Phoenix for Thanksgiving to spend the holiday with Grandma K, Grampy Doug, Auntie Cake (Kaitlyn) and Uncle Bill Puff (William). Ryleigh did excellent on the plane ride and slept thru the whole flight. She did have a little trouble adjusting the first night, but we managed. Ryleigh had constant attention from everyone and boy did she love it! I think she was a little worn out from all the excitement because she has been sleeping for the last 2 days straight!

3 Months & 2 Weeks~Bath Time

We had a fun time in the bath today and Dad took a bunch of really funny pictures that I thought we should share. Also, on a side note~ we had beeen trying to get Ryleigh to sleep in her crib only to have a very unhappy crying baby, but today we invested in a mobile and so far it seems to be just what she needed. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Peace!! Dude!

7 Weeks~Check Out My New Hat!

Well, we met with Ryleigh's nutritionist and everything is going really great. She is gaining and growing very well. Ryleigh is officially too big for preemie clothes and is trying out her newborn sized wardrobe! We also had her second eye appointment and that was not a very fun procedure, but she passed her test and everything is developing properly so she will not have to go back for a year.

Unexpected Debut

On Tuesday June 28th (29 weeks 6 days pregnant), I began feeling some small stomach cramping though out the day. I figured it must just be Braxton Hicks contractions and continued to ignore them. By 11pm that evening the pain was getting really uncomfortable so David and I took a trip to the hospital. That evening I was admitted to the hospital and given many medications to stop the contractions that I was experiancing.

The next morning I was dialated to 1 centimeters and the doctors were concerend I would deliver early. I was taken by ambulance to a hospital with better care for perterm babies.

Things started getting better and the contractions began to go away and on July 1st the doctor said that the next day i would be going home on bed rest.

Around 11pm that evening I started feeling the contractions again. They slowly became stronger and stronger and by 2Am on July 2nd I had given birth to Ryleigh Elizabeth Adams.

Born after only 30 weeks and 4 days, Ryleigh is very small ( 3 lbs, 9 ounces and 16.5 inches long), but she is doing well and has a very good recovery rate. Right now we just have to wait and let her get stronger.
